Whilst Fresh Relevance offers several automated and personalized recommendations, from time to time you might want to hand pick the products you would like to show.
This could be particularly useful when wanting to highlight a specific collection or to push surplus stock. This how-to article will show you how to do exactly that.

Step 1 β Create Recommendations SmartBlock
Start by navigating to the SmartBlock Management Page. Ensure you are on the Recommendation tab, then press Create SmartBlock.
Select which channel you would like to use, and the page you would like to put the SmartBlock on.
On Tactic, we will select Custom and configure this ourselves.
Choose a layout, give the SmartBlock a name and press Save.
Step 2 β Configure The SmartBlock
On the Design Tab, you can alter the number of columns based on the number of products you plan on showing, along with the general look and feel of your Recommendations.
On the Data tab select your Primary Data Source as Pre-defined Fixed Product IDs.
You can also alter the number of products shown in the SmartBlock in this tab, as default it will select 3, but we can show up to 20.
For this use-case there is no need to worry about fallbacks as this SmartBlock will only populate the handpicked products we will select later.
Step 3 β Select Your Products With A Filter
On the Filtering tab drag the Product Field rule into the tree on the right hand side.
Select the box that says Field and select Product ID from the dropdown list

Finally, the Product box will appear, in here you can either search by Product Name or by the ID, and select all the products you wish to show in this SmartBlock.
Step 4 β Test and Deploy
Press Preview and make sure you are happy with how your SmartBlock looks
Press Save and Use
Select either the Site Editor to directly deploy to your website, or a Slot to add to an Email or an existing Website Slot.
