Upgrade 28th May 2014 — Sliding dates for transactional data rules in the segmentation builder

Scheduled maintenance and upgrade for dotMailer on 28th May 2014 includes the following upgrades and changes:

Segmentation builder: Sliding dates for transactional data rules

Segmentation rules for transactional data now has a larger range of date options, which means sliding dates are available across the whole of the application. This follows on from making sliding dates available for contact data fields four weeks ago and for behavioural data two weeks ago.

Check out the full list of available rules for date fields.

Program builder updates

If you're making use of our powerful program builder tool, then please find the latest enhancements:

  • Automatic generation of decision names
  • Various other modifications and tweaks (please see the list below for details)

Other improvements

We've also upgraded and tweaked several other features including:

  • A fix has been implemented to resolve failed attempts to export a campaign’s non-openers
  • An error no longer occurs when a split test resume date is more than 24 hours away
  • Phone number validation has been added across the whole application, ensuring invalid numbers can’t be entered
  • It is no longer possible to create invalid segments by selecting ‘branch’ fields instead of ‘leaf’ fields in transactional data
  • An issue has been fixed in which the page views overview report was not always reporting a page’s title
  • Accounts set to pay in US dollars will no longer receive an error from our online payment page (payment for these accounts should be made via our Credit Control team)
  • An error page could occasionally display when formatting a file whilst importing contacts; this issue has been fixed
  • Our SMS functionality has been optimised
  • The up/down buttons response area within the program node settings panel are now correctly aligned; previously, clicking between the buttons could result in an up click
  • There were instances in which the reporting charts could error for some users; this has been fixed
  • An issue has been fixed in which some users were seeing an error page instead of the step 5 ‘Summary’ page
  • A fix has been implemented to ensure the system can always successfully process dates returned by Hexonet, thus allowing domain renewals to go through as expected
  • The 'View contacts' button style for white labels was not rendering correctly; it has now been fixed
  • An issue relating to inconsistently ordered data returned by the API has been fixed
  • An instance of an incorrect cost displaying in an account activation modal (although the invoice charge calculations was not affected) has been fixed
  • The ‘Email hotspot’ functionality wasn’t recording any statistics when there were unsupported characters in URLs; this has been fixed
  • The speed and performance of campaign saving for campaigns which use external dynamic content has been improved
  • Editing the date within the text field when setting a simple program decision was resulting in the date being evaluated incorrectly; this has now been fixed
  • A program builder timing issue has been fixed in which 6 extra hours were being added to a contact’s holding time within an X day(s) delay node
  • When creating a contact data field name with invalid characters, the wrong error message was displaying; it’s now the correct one
  • Two-factor authentication now supports global mobile phone numbers when exporting, whereas previously it supported UK ones only
  • An issue has been fixed which was causing yet-to-be-resumed split test campaigns with external dynamic content to stop sending
