Cross account reporting

Learn how to use Cross account reporting to examine your marketing data across multiple accounts.

Overview

Cross account reporting is a great way to aggregate all of your email marketing data from multiple accounts into one place. Cross account reporting can help you:

  • See how your accounts are performing collectively.
  • Gain insights into individual accounts, to see which accounts are performing well and which accounts need more focus.
  • Compare and contrast email campaign performance from multiple accounts.
  • Export all raw account and email campaign data into .CSV files for data analytics.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • Accounts with Cross account reporting enabled are able to see their own account plus any child accounts underneath it.
  • A child account can be granted permission to see one level higher in an account hierarchy.
    Cross account reporting permissions can be granted by the top level parent account, to find out more check out Enable Cross account reporting for child accounts.

Access Cross account reporting

To access Cross account reporting go to Email > Reporting > Cross account reporting.

Manage reporting data

To get started with Cross account reporting, you need to choose which accounts you want to view, and the time period you want to get data from.

Select accounts
Use the account selector to add and remove accounts from your Cross account reporting. Accounts selected here will become available to add and remove from individual Cross account reporting tools.

  1. Select the account edit button in the top-right to open the Accounts side panel.

  2. Under Accounts selected, choose either:
    • Select grouped accounts - to show data from an account and all child accounts underneath it.
    • Select individual account - to show data from a single account.

  3. Select an account or a group of accounts.
    If you need help finding a specific account use the search bar at the top of the menu.
  4. Select APPLY.
    The number of accounts you have selected is displayed in the top-right.

Set date range
Use the date range filter to show account data from a specific period of time.

  1. Select DATE RANGE in the top-right to open the Date options side panel.

  2. Choose either Pre-defined date range or Custom date range if you want to choose specific dates.

  3. For the Pre-defined date range, expand the date range drop-down menu and select your pre-defined date range.
  4. For Custom date range, use the date picker to choose your Start date and End date.
    You can select a maximum date span of 2 years.
  5. Select APPLY.

Email reporting

Use the email reporting tiles to see overall metrics from all selected accounts.

To change the metric displayed on individual tiles, select the tile’s title and choose a metric from the drop-down menu.

Account performance

Use the account performance graph to compare up to 6 accounts against a single metric.

To display the account performance graph go to Account performance and select ACCOUNTS.

Add accounts to the graph
To add an account to the graph:

  1. Select CHANGE to open the accounts side panel.
  2. For a NOT SELECTED account, select +SELECT and choose an account.
  3. Select APPLY.
    You can remove an account from the graph by selecting REMOVE next to the account.

Choose the graph’s metric

To choose the graph’s performance metric:

  1. For SHOW, select the graph’s current metric.
  2. Choose a new metric from the list.

Date granularity selector

To choose how the graph displays date data:

  1. Select the graph’s current date granularity.
  2. Choose a new date granularity from the list.

Metric performance

Use the metric performance graph to compare up to 6 metrics from across your accounts.
To display the metric performance graph go to Account performance and select METRICS.

Add metrics to the graph
To add a metric to the graph:

  1. Select CHANGE to open the metrics side panel.
  2. Select +SELECT on a NOT SELECTED metric and choose a metric.

  3. Select APPLY.
    You can remove a metric from the graph by selecting REMOVE next to the metric.

Choose the graph’s accounts
To choose the accounts to get data from:

  1. Select the graph’s account edit button.
  2. Under Accounts selected, choose either:
    • Select grouped accounts - to show data from an account and all child accounts underneath it.
    • Select individual account - to show data from a single account.
  3. Select APPLY.

Date granularity selector
To choose how the graph displays date data:

  1. Select the graph’s current date granularity.
  2. Choose a new date granularity from the list.

Account comparison

Use the account comparison table to view all selected accounts’ metrics.

Add accounts to the table
To add an account to the table:

  1. Select ADD / REMOVE ACCOUNT to open the accounts side panel.

  2. Select SELECT ACCOUNTS.
    A maximum of 20 accounts can be selected.

  3. Select accounts from the list.
  4. Select APPLY.
    You can remove an account from the table by selecting the X button next to the account.

Display metrics

To display metrics on the table:

  1. Select DISPLAY.

  2. Select the check boxes next to the metrics.

Order table

You can order the table’s data by selecting a metric from the tables top row, or selecting Sort by in the DISPLAY side panel.

Campaign performance (single campaign)

Use the single campaign performance graph to compare multiple metrics from a single campaign.

Choose the graph’s campaign
To choose the campaign to get data from:

  1. Select the graph’s account edit button.

  2. Select an account from the list and select SELECT.
  3. Select a campaign from the list.
    You can choose between a list of standard or triggered campaigns from the top.

Add metrics to the graph

To add a metric to the graph:

  1. Select CHANGE to open the metrics side panel.

    You can remove a metric from the graph by selecting REMOVE next to the metric.

Campaign performance (multiple campaigns)

Use the multiple campaigns performance graph to compare multiple campaigns against a single metric.

Add campaigns to the graph

To add a campaign to the graph:

  1. Select CHANGE to open the accounts side panel.
  2. Select the + button on a NO ACCOUNT SET / NO CAMPAIGN SET and select an account from the list.

  4. Select a campaign from the list.

Campaign comparison

Use the campaign comparison table to view all selected campaigns’ metrics.

Add accounts to the table
To add an account to the table:

  1. Select ADD / REMOVE CAMPAIGN to open the campaigns side panel.

  4. Select SELECT.
  5. Select the checkbox next to the campaigns you want to add.
    You can choose between a list of standard or triggered campaigns from the top.
  6. Select SELECT.
    You can remove a campaign from the table by selecting the X button next to the campaign.

Display metrics

To display metrics on the table:

  1. Select DISPLAY.
  2. Select the check boxes next to the metrics you want to add.

Order table
You can order the table’s data by selecting a metric from the tables top row, or selecting Sort by in the DISPLAY side panel.

Export CSV file

You can export data as a .CSV file from the following areas of Cross account reporting:

  • Email reporting - Select EXPORT .CSV

  • Account comparison - Select EXPORT and choose Export table or Export all accounts.
    • Export table exports the table displayed.
    • Export all accounts exports all accounts you have access to from the account selector and metrics.

  • Campaign comparison - Select EXPORT and choose Export table or Export all campaigns.
    • Export table exports the table displayed.
    • Export all campaigns exports all campaigns you have access to from the respective accounts chosen with the account selector and metrics.

Enable Cross account reporting for child accounts

The top level parent account can:

  • Enable and disable Cross account reporting on child accounts.
  • Enable and disable permission for a child account to view one level of accounts above itself in Cross account reporting.

To access Cross account reporting permissions with the top level parent account:

  1. Go to Settings (⋮) > Your team.
  2. Select the email address of the user you want to edit.
  3. Under Settings, select the Permissions tab.
  4. For Cross account reporting and Cross account reporting of parent, select Yes to grant permission. To remove permission, select No.
  5. Select SAVE.
