To synchronise mobile phone data between Microsoft Dynamics and Dotdigital, you must map the correct fields and set the synchronisation direction. Without proper mapping, mobile data won't synchronise correctly.
Before you start
Things you need to know:
Mobile numbers synchronise one-way only: from Dynamics to Dotdigital.
SMS unsubscribe actions in Dotdigital aren't synchronised back to Dynamics.
Contacts must have both an email address and mobile number for synchronisation.
Mobile number changes aren't synchronised.
You might need to resynchronise your Email Data Labels if you don't see MOBILENUMBERID.
1. Set up mobile number validation (optional)
Mobile validation checks ensure your mobile numbers follow your chosen country's formatting rules and, where possible, corrects formatting errors.
Before you start
For multi-country data, keep validation turned off.
Invalid numbers don't synchronise.
The mobile number validator formats numbers in E.164 format.
In Microsoft Dynamics, go to Email Accounts > Select Account > Account Administration.
Expand the Choose a default country for mobile number validation drop-down menu, then choose the country you want to validate your mobile numbers for.
2. Configure mobile number data mapping
In Microsoft Dynamics, go to Email data mappings menu, then select New Email Data Mapping.
For Email Data Label, choose MOBILENUMBERID.
For Mapped entity, select the entity type (Account, Contact, or Lead).
For Primary CRM field, select the field that the mobile phone data label should associate with.
For Mapping direction, choose Information flows from CRM.
Select Save to activate the mapping.
3. Sync consent (optional)
If you capture consent, you can either create a marketing list that updates in Dotdigital or sync a data field instead.
Your marketing list must be:
