Add Web behavior tracking to WooCommerce

Collect identifiable contact data from your site, based on your contacts' browsing behavior.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • Check out The WooCommerce integration checklist to help track your progress.

  • You must have a WooCommerce store connected to your Dotdigital account.

  • Adding Web behavior tracking automatically enables Abandoned browse.


1. Create your web behavior tracking profile

  1. In Dotdigital, expand the User menu and go to Settings > Access > Web behavior profiles.

  2. Select NEW PROFILE.

  3. For Name, enter a name for your profile.

    This can be anything you want, but make it recognisable.

  4. For Website domains, enter each domain you want to add the tracking script to.

    Max: 15 unique domains. Omit the https://wwwfor example, example.com.

  5. Select CREATE.

  6. On Web behavior tracking profile, switch on Track abandoned carts.

  7. If you want to enable guest carts, switch on Enable guest carts.

  8. Copy your Unique ID.

    You need this in Step 2.2.

  9. Select SAVE.


2. Set up Web behavior tracking in WooCommerce

  1. In Wordpress, go to Dotdigital for WooCommerce > Settings.

  2. Under the header Tracking, select the Enable site and ROI tracking check box.

  3. Expand the Select region drop-down menu, and choose your Dotdigital region.

  4. For Web behavior tracking profile ID, enter your Unique ID.

    This is the Unique ID you copied in Step 1.8.

  5. Select Save Changes.
