Learn how to synchronise form responses and view them in Microsoft Dynamics.
Forms are a helpful way to collect additional data from your contacts, and the Dotdigital for Microsoft Dynamics connector allows you to synchronise this data to your Contact and Lead records.
Before you start
Things you need to know:
- You must build and publish your forms in Dotdigital.
To learn how, check out the Create a form article.
Synchronise your forms
To set up automatic synchronisation of your form data from Dotdigital to Microsoft Dynamics:
- Go to Email Accounts under Settings in the left side menu.
- Select an account.
- Select Scheduled Sync Settings.
- Set the Interval and Sync window for the Forms sync type.
- Select Save.
To learn more about Scheduled Sync Settings, check out the article Administration Settings in Microsoft Dynamics.
You might be working on a form and want to retrieve the latest statistics immediately, without waiting for the next automatic synchronisation.
To manually synchronise a form:
- Go to Forms under Engagement Cloud in the left side menu.
- Select the checkbox next to a form name.
- Select Synchronise in the toolbar at the top of the page.
Hidden field values
Synchronisation of hidden field values is not currently supported. For these fields there is a blank entry instead under Display value.
To ensure data from hidden fields can be synchronised, you can assign the hidden field to a Contact data field in Dotdigital, and then map this to an Email Data Label in Microsoft Dynamics. To learn more about hidden fields, check out Collect hidden values from the query string of a page or form.

The screen displays a list of forms and across each row you can see the summary data which provides an at-a-glance view of the form details.
By default, your active forms are displayed. To see inactive forms, expand the Active Forms drop-down menu and select Inactive Forms.

To view more detail for a specific form, select the form name you want to view.
The first section of the page shows basic information related to the form such as name, number of complete and incomplete responses, first and last response date and public URL.
The next section displays a breakdown of the questions contained in the form. You can see the question type (text, checklist, email, and so on) and other details relating to each specific question.
