We're always working to improve the Dotdigital for Microsoft Dynamics connector. And whenever we have an improvement, we make an update available.

An update might include stability enhancements, bug fixes, admin tools, or new features and functionality. So, keeping your solution up-to-date is the perfect way to make sure you're using the latest and greatest solution.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • You must be a system administrator in Microsoft Dynamics with permission to perform upgrades.

Checking for an upgrade

The update reminder tool lets you know when it's time to upgrade.

  1. Go to Email Accounts under Settings in the left side menu.

  2. Select an account name.

  3. Select Account Administration and look for a bright yellow banner.

  4. If you don’t see the banner, good news, you're already up-to-date. If you do, select the link to download the latest solution.

Upgrading your solution

  1. In Microsoft Dynamics and go to Email Accounts under Settings in the left hand menu.

  2. Select an account name.

  3. Select Account Administration, and on the upgrade notification banner, select Download the latest solution.
This downloads the most recent compatible solution to your device.

  4. Once your download is complete, go to Settings > Advanced Settings.

  5. Expand the Settings drop-down menu and select Solutions.

  6. Select Import.

  7. In the pop-up window, select Choose File, and locate the file you downloaded in step three, and then select Next to upload. The upload might take a few minutes.
While the file uploads, you can see the Solution Information panel – this shows you the current version, the version you're installing, and some additional details.

  8. Once the upload finishes, you’re asked how to handle your customisations during the upgrade. Choose your customisation option and select Import to start the upgrade.

Customisation settings

We recommend you select Maintain customizations. It’s important to only select Overwrite customizations if you are certain that this is what you want.

  1. Once the upgrade completes successfully, a success banner displays at the top of the page and you can see a detailed upgrade log.
If you want to save a copy of the log, select Download Log File.

  2. Select Close to complete your upgrade.
