In EasyEditor, all images have a width and height which is measured in pixels. Using image files that are larger than the pixel size shown in EasyEditor can give sharper results, especially for images that scale up on mobile.
View the size of an image
To view the size of an image in an email campaign:
When editing your email in EasyEditor, select the image you want to view the size of.
Select the resize icon in the bottom-right corner.
The pixel size (width and height) is shown at the top of the image.
Photos and other image types
We recommend using JPGs of at least 660px wide for most types of image, except for logos and icons.
This larger width is recommend because when column blocks stack on mobile devices and smaller screens, images contained within the columns might scale up.
In the example below, the image is 200 pixels wide on a desktop but can expand to over 600 pixels wide on a mobile device. This means that an image file sized at 200 pixels wide appears blurry when scaled up on a mobile screen.

When scaled up on a mobile device, the 200px image appears blurry.
Larger files sizes and resolutions
If you upload a JPG wider than 660px, it resizes to a maximum width of 660px. This helps keep file sizes small and prevents images from downloading slowly.
When preparing your image files, always start with a high-resolution image and scale down. Never scale up a low-resolution image.
Images requiring extra sharpness
Some images might include fine details or text that appear blurry in a JPG file that is 660 pixels wide. For these types of images, it's better to use a higher-resolution PNG file, as we do not re-scale PNGs. A PNG image that is between 1000 and 1400 pixels wide will look sharp on most high-resolution mobile screens.
Avoid larger-than-needed PNGs
Don’t upload excessively large PNG files, as these load very slowly when your contact views the email on a slow or unreliable connection, such as when traveling on a train.
Logos and icons
Logos and icons look best when they maintain consistent pixel dimensions across both desktop and mobile views instead of scaling up or down.
To set an image not to scale on mobile:
Select the logo or icon image you do not want to scale.
Select the Styles tab in the left-side panel.
Select the Display options tab in the accordion.
Select the Preserve image size checkbox.
To get the best sharpness for images that do not scale on mobile, upload a PNG that is exactly twice the display size indicated in EasyEditor. For instance, if a logo is displayed at 170px wide in EasyEditor, uploading a PNG that is 340px wide ensures optimum sharpness on retina displays and other high-resolution screens.
