Intelligent segment templates make it easy to create powerful, data-driven segments using Dotdigital’s predictive analytics and eRFM (engagement + Recency, Frequency, Monetary) modelling. These templates surface advanced capabilities in a simple, accessible way, helping you target the right customers at the right time.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • You must have the Ecommerce and Predictive analytics permissions enabled.

  • You must have Order collection and Predictive insight data collection active.

  • Intelligent segment templates are not part of WinstonAI and do not require WinstonAI permissions. They are powered by Dotdigital’s predictive analytics engine, not generative AI.

Intelligent segment templates

There are six predefined templates under the Intelligent category when creating a segment. These are:

  • Three templates based on eRFM personas

  • Three templates based on predicted next order dates

Each template works like any other segment template: select it, enter a name, and view the predefined rules. These rules are built using eRFM blocks and predictive data models.

There are 3 Segment templates based on predicted next order date: Likely to purchase in the next 7, 30, or 90 days. Choose the one most relevant for the length of your sales cycle.

Use intelligent segment templates

  1. Go to Audience > Segments.

  2. Select NEW SEGMENT.

  3. In the template categories, select Intelligent.

  4. Choose one of the six predefined templates:

    • eRFM persona-based templates

    • Predicted next order date templates

  5. Enter a name for your segment and choose the location.

  6. Select CONTINUE.

Your segment is created with predefined rules. You can now review, modify, or add additional rules to tailor the segment to your needs.
