Purchase an SMS number

Purchase a new long or short SMS number to use with your SMS campaigns.

For sending to the UK, or to the US or Australia, you can complete the number purchase in-app. If you want to send to other regions, you can indicate this in the platform and one of our team gets in touch to complete the process for you.

Alternatively, you can contact your Customer Success representative directly.

To purchase a number in-app:

  1. Expand the User menu and go to Settings > SMS > SMS settings.

  2. Select the Manage numbers tab.

  3. Select PURCHASE NEW NUMBER.

  4. Select the countries you plan to send SMS messages to, then select GET STARTED.


Send to the UK

  1. Choose the type of number you want, then select NEXT.

  2. For a Virtual Mobile Number (VMN):

    1. Choose how many numbers you want to purchase.
      Maximum of five in a single transaction.

    2. Select NEXT.

    3. Review the purchase summary then select ADD TO INVOICE.

    For a Shared short code or Free text shared short code:

    1. Enter the keyword you want to use in the text field to check if it’s available.
      If it’s not, you must choose a different keyword.

    2. Once you have entered an available keyword, select NEXT.
      If you want to purchase more than one keyword, select ADD NEW KEYWORD.

    3. Review the purchase summary then select ADD TO INVOICE.


Send to the US or Australia

Before you start

  • For the US, it’s only possible to purchase a toll-free number in-app. If you want to purchase a short code or 10DLC, contact your Customer Success representative.

  • For Australia, it’s only possible to purchase a Virtual Mobile Number (VMN) in-app. If you want to set up an alphanumeric from name, learn how in Manage SMS From names.

  1. Enter the amount of numbers you want to purchase.
    Maximum of five.

  2. Select NEXT.

  3. Read the summary information, then select ADD TO INVOICE.
