Insight data: Getting started - Magento 1

In addition to syncing contacts to Dotdigital, you also have the ability to sync more complex data, which can be used for segmentation or personalisation purposes.

This sort of data is what is called Insight data within Dotdigital, and it requires your Dotdigital account to have additional Insight modules enabled, such as OrderInsight and AccountInsight.

Data types

The following information can be synced across to Dotdigital as part of Insight data:

Order data

This allows you to sync all of the orders you have in Magento, configurable by order status. We sync a variety of default data with every order but we also allow you to configure additional order and product attributes/options to be synced.

Quote data

This allows you to sync all of the quotes (carts) you have in Magento. We sync a variety of default data with every quote but we also allow you to configure additional quote attributes to be synced.

Wishlist data

This allows you to sync all of the wishlists your customers have in Magento to Dotdigital.

Review data

This allows you to sync all of the reviews that your customers have left against your products.

Catalog data

This allows you to sync your entire product catalog to Dotdigital for use within campaigns or landing pages, using Dotdigital's Liquid personalisation functionality.


Find out if you already have Insight data enabled

The quickest and easiest way to find out if you have the facility to enable any of these syncs on your Dotdigital account is to go to the Connect area of Dotdigital, where you should see options for Contact insight data or Account insight data.

If these options don't appear, then the feature is not enabled on your account and you must speak with your Customer Success representative.
