Design a page with EasyEditor

Learn to design a page using our EasyEditor page builder.

Overview

You can build and edit pages using EasyEditor. You can also add tracking code, publish, unpublish, and republish them. Since these pages are web pages and aren’t email campaigns, there are less limitations, so you can do more with them.

Get started

To access the page builder, go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms. If you already have page, find the row your page name is in and select the Pencil icon under the Edit column. If you need to create a new page, select New page or form.

Pages are different than email campaigns

This article covers pages and how you can build them; this is different than using EasyEditor for email campaigns.

To learn more about EasyEditor and building email campaigns, check out the EasyEditor - an overview article.

Using the Build and Styles tabs

The Build and Styles tabs are two different areas in the page builder where you can access the building and styling elements of your pages.

Build tab

In the Build tab, you can use different building tools:

  • Building blocks
Create the general parts of your page with these blocks:
    • Content
Add titles, subtitles, section titles, text boxes, images, images and text, text and images, buttons, PayPal options, and videos.
    • Layout
      Add columns and spacers.
    • Tools
Add sharing options, social links, countdowns, time and geo targets.
    • Advanced personalisation
Add loops, decisions, and Liquid markup.
  • Form blocks
Design the bulk of your page using form blocks, such as text boxes, opinion scales, and action buttons.
  • My building blocks
Store and access previously made building blocks for reuse.
  • Images
Upload, choose, and manage your images to drag onto your page.
  • Your old surveys
Drag your active surveys and forms onto your page to improve reporting and automate communications.

Styles tab

In the Styles tab, you can style your pages to match your branding:

  • Background colours
Choose and manage your page background colours with these tools:
    • Background layers
    • Colour picker
    • Colours in this page
    • My colours
  • Colour theme
    • My colours
  • Background images
    • Background layers
    • Position, size, repeat, and scrolling.
  • Borders & padding
Style the various borders and their padding on your page.
    • Borders
Select the style, weights, and colour for your borders.
    • Padding
Select the size of your padding.

Add a Video building block

You can embed a video to your page by dragging the Video building block onto the page builder.

To add a Video building block:

  1. Go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms.
  2. Select a campaign name or the Pencil icon in the Edit column.
  3. Go to Build > Building blocks > Tools.
  4. Drag the Video building block onto the page builder canvas.
  5. Select the block.
  6. In the Settings panel, enter the video embed code into the Embed code box.

Embed code is found by selecting Share on YouTube and Vimeo videos. For Vimeo embed code, only use the first part that ends with the closing </iframe> tag. We don’t accept any code beyond this tag.

  7. Select Save.

If your embed code is valid, a green check mark appears and your video appears on the page builder. If the embed code isn't valid, a red X appears and no video is shown.

Add a Countdown building block

A Countdown building block is great for competitions, limited time offers and promotions, or if you're launching a new product or service. We recommend a countdown in these scenarios because it’s informative about the approaching deadline, while also creating excitement and urgency for your contacts.

To add a Countdown building block:

  1. Go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms.
  2. Select a campaign name or the Pencil icon in the Edit column.
  3. Go to Build > Building blocks > Tools.
  4. Drag the Countdown building block onto the page builder canvas.

To set up your Countdown building block, select it from the page builder canvas to open the Settings panel. You can edit the following:

  • End options
Enter the date you want the countdown to end on.
    • Select At this time to pick a time the countdown will end. If you don’t select this, only days appear for the countdown.
    • Select After ending, redirect to: to send visitors to another page after the countdown expires.
  • Timer style
Change the font, font size, and colour of your timer. Choose if the timer is displayed in bold, italics or underlined text, or a combination of these.
  • Label style
Change the style of the countdown labels: Days, Hours, Minutes, and Seconds. You can change the font, font size, and colour of the labels, and can choose from a combination of bold, italics and underlined text. You can choose to show no labels; unselect Show labels.

Add a Time target building block

You can add the Time target building block; it’s only visible before or after a set time. This is useful if you're promoting a time-limited sale on your page, or promoting entry into a competition that has a definitive start and finish date. This block only appears when relevant and disappears once irrelevant.

To add a Time target building block:

  1. Go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms.
  2. Select a campaign name or the Pencil icon in the Edit column.
  3. Go to Build > Building blocks > Tools.
  4. Drag the Time target building block onto the page builder canvas.
  5. Select the Cog icon.

  6. Select Yes to configure hiding the block before or after a specific date. This can include a specific time on the selected date.

The timezone is based on the one you use for your account.

  7. Select Apply.

Once your page is published, content in this block won't be visible before and after the times you set.

Add a Geo target building block

The Geo target building block is only visible to viewers who are in the location you set. This personalises your page based on where the viewer is accessing it from. This is useful if you have a country-specific offer or you want to target contacts living near your next event location.

Locating your page visitors

Visitors to your page are located using GPS. If GPS isn’t available, wifi is used; this isn’t necessarily the connection the visitor is using. If neither GPS or wifi is available, then the visitor’s IP address is used; this is the least accurate method.

To add a Geo target building block:

  1. Go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms.
  2. Select a campaign name or the Pencil icon in the Edit column.
  3. Go to Build > Building blocks > Tools.
  4. Drag the Geo target building block onto the page builder canvas.
  5. Select the Cog icon.

  6. In the Friendly name box, enter a name for the block.

This name appears in the block header in EasyEditor.

  7. Select Show or Hide for the Location available field. This decides what happens to the block content when the visitor’s location is unavailable.
  8. Select areas on the map you want to target by selecting and dragging the square, circle, or custom polygon tool.

  9. Select Apply.

Using Advanced personalisation building blocks

Advanced personalisation building blocks help you to create a tailored experience for each viewer. This means you can create a single page, but the content is unique for each individual page viewer. You can do different things with the Loop, Decision, and Liquid markup building blocks.

Select any of these blocks within the page to open a side panel where you can set them up.

To learn more about advanced personalisation, check out the Advanced personalisation area in the help centre.

Add a Survey building block

You can add surveys to your pages by using the Survey building block. This helps you to learn more about the visitors that come to your page.

To learn more about surveys and reporting, check out the Survey reports article.

To add a Survey building block:

  1. Go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms.
  2. Select a campaign name or the Pencil icon in the Edit column.
  3. Go to Build > Your old surveys.
  4. Drag any of your surveys onto the page builder canvas, or select Create a new survey.

To learn more about creating a survey, check out the Create a survey area in the help centre.

To check if your survey is working correctly, select the Eye icon to preview your page.

If a contact comes to the page from a link in an email campaign, and the survey questions are assigned to contact data fields, then the survey on the page fills in the boxes with this data.

Add background images

You can add a background image to your page. This helps with your branding and makes your pages memorable.

  1. Go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms.
  2. Select a campaign name or the Pencil icon in the Edit column.
  3. Go to Styles > Background images.
  4. In the Background layers drop-down menu, select the background layer you want your image to appear in.
  5. Select Choose image to open the Image manager modal to add the image you want to use.

To learn more about the Image manager, check out the Using the image manager article.

  6. Select OK.

To delete the image, select Remove image.

You can also decide the position, size, repetition, and if the image should scroll with the page or remain fixed in place by using the remaining drop-down menus.

Using Google Fonts

You can add Google Fonts to your page because, unlike email providers, pages can support more font types.

You can find a collection of fonts by checking out the Google Fonts page.

If you want to include a Google Font that isn't in the page builder by default, you can add the code to the page HTML:

  1. Go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms.
  2. Select a campaign name or the Pencil icon in the Edit column.
  3. Go to Utilities > Edit source.
  4. Add the Google Font code in the <head>...</head> section.

Link to other pages

You can link to other pages from a page.

To link to other pages:

  1. Go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms.
  2. Select a campaign name or the Pencil icon in the Edit column.
  3. Highlight the text on the page you want to turn into a link.
  4. Select the Link icon.
    linkiconpages.png
  5. Select Link to a page.

In the Page or form drop-down menu, select an existing page. Only pages that have a URL appear in this drop-down menu.

  6. Select Insert.

Add tracking code to a page

You can add Web Behavior Tracking, Google Analytics, Google PPC, or any other tracking code to your page. This is great for gathering in-depth web analytics.

To add tracking code:

  1. Go to the Channel menu and select Pages and forms.
  2. Select a campaign name or the Pencil icon in the Edit column.
  3. Select Utilities > Add tracking code > Add tracking code.
  4. Choose from Web Behavior Tracking, Google Analytics, Google PPC, or Other.
  5. Add your tracking code into the box.
  6. Select Apply.

With Web Behavior Tracking, Google Analytics, or Google PPC tracking code, selecting Apply automatically inserts the code into the correct place in the HTML for you. With other tracking codes, you need to position them in the HTML.
