Set up a split test SMS campaign

Learn how to use split testing with your SMS campaigns.

Overview

Split testing is a great way to find out what works and what... well, doesn't. By split testing your SMS campaigns, you can hone your skills and make sure your campaigns are getting results.

Set up a new split test SMS campaign

To set up a split test SMS campaign:

  1. Go to SMS.
  2. Select NEW CAMPAIGN.
  3. Enter a name for your campaign in the Campaign name box.
  4. Select Save.
  5. On the Campaign details page:
    1. Under Type of send, select Broadcast.
    2. Under Split test, select Yes.
      We automatically turn on Shorten links, as you must use shortened links for split test SMS campaigns. With SMS, links are used to report user interaction with your campaigns.
  6. Select SAVE.

Turn on split testing for an existing SMS campaign

 To turn split testing on for an existing SMS campaign:

  1. Go to SMS > SMS campaigns > All campaigns, and select an existing campaign.
  2. Select CAMPAIGN OPTIONS.
  3. On the Campaign options side panel:
    1. For Type of send, select Broadcast.
    2. For Split test, select Yes.
      We automatically turn on Shorten links, as you must use shortened links for split test SMS campaigns. With SMS, links are used to report user interaction with your campaigns.
  4. Select Save and continue.
