Google Sheets: Forms

Learn to integrate your Dotdigital form stats and responses to Google Sheets.

Overview

This automation lets you record, monitor, and analyse your form stats and responses using Google Sheets. Use this data within Google Data Studio to create reports and analyse the data in more depth

How it works

  • Automatically populate your Google sheets with the form data.
  • The data saved to the Google sheet contains the following properties: id, name, URL, response dates, and more.
  • Options to update or append sheets.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • You must have the Integration hub permission enabled.
    To learn more, check out the article Understanding user default permissions.
  • Your form responses will sync through to Google Sheets at hourly intervals.

Step 1: Connect integration

To connect the Google Sheets: Forms integration to your Google account:

  1. Go to Integration hub.
  2. Select the Self-serve tab.
  3. Find and select the Google Sheets: Forms integration.

  4. Select Use integration.
  5. Select + Connect your Google Sheets and enter your Google email address and password.
  6. Expand the Select what dotdigital can access drop-down menu, select See, edit, create and delete all your Google Sheets spreadsheets.

  7. Select Continue, Ok, then Next to proceed.
  • If you have trouble authorising the connection, you might need to verify the action inside your Google account settings.
  • If you want to connect to more than one Google account select + Add another Google Sheets connection.

Step 2: Settings

To set your integration to your preferred settings:

  1. For Name of spreadsheet, enter the name of the sheet to save the data to.
  2. Select Next.

  3. Expand the Update or append rows drop-down menu and choose Update or Append.

  4. Select Next.
  5. Expand the Timezone drop-down menu and choose your timezone.

  6. Select Next.
  7. Expand the Import responses drop-down menu and choose Yes or No.
    Your form responses will sync through to Google Sheets at hourly intervals.

  8. Select Next.
  9. The integration is connected and data will push to your Google sheets. Select Home to go back to the Integration hub.

Google Sheets: Forms can now be accessed from your Google drive.
