Use Dotdigital data in Looker Studio

Populate Looker Studio dashboards and reports with your Dotdigital data through Google Sheets.

Your data is powerful, and you can make the most of it by creating a Google Sheets data source in Looker Studio to build customisable reports and interactive dashboards with the data synced from Dotdigital.

You can:

  • Measure campaign performance against order information to monitor the impact of your campaigns.

  • Use campaign performance data alongside information in Google Analytics to build views of a specific contact.

  • Visualize form information against engagement for specific contacts to assess the health of your customer relationships and inform future campaign planning.

Available data

By connecting your Dotdigital account with Google Sheets, you can expose the following data for use in Looker Studio:

  • Name and type

  • Contact count

  • Last updated date

Google Sheets: Campaigns

  • Campaign summary data

  • Date sent, number delivered, bounces

  • Unsubscribes

  • Opens, clicks, and page views

Google Sheets: Forms

  • Form statistics and responses

  • Name and URL

  • First and latest response date

  • Number of completed responses

  • Number of views and bounces

  • Complete responses

  • Optional


Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • You must have installed and set up the Google Sheets integration for the data you want to use in Looker Studio.


Connect Looker Studio

  1. Log in to your Looker Studio account.

  2. From the homepage, expand the Create drop-down menu and select Data source.

  3. Under Google Connectors, select Google Sheets.

  4. Select the sheet you want to use, then select CONNECT.

Create a new report

To use the data from the selected sheet in Looker Studio reporting:

  1. In the data source you created, select CREATE REPORT.

  2. In the report editor, select ADD TO REPORT.

  3. Select Untitled report to enter a new name for your report.
    Looker Studio saves all changes to reports automatically.
