Sort address books and contacts lists

Learn to sort you address books and contacts lists.

Overview

When you build a large collection of address books and contacts, you’ll likely want to display them in an order that suits you. You can change the way your address books and contacts lists are sorted using the table headers or display table settings.

Sort address books

There are two ways you can sort you address books.

Sort using table header
To sort your address books using the table headers:

  1. Go to Contacts > All contacts.
  2. On the address book list, select a header from the top of the table.
    Sorting by Name, for instance, automatically sorts by address book names in ascending alphabetical order, indicated by the small arrow pointing upwards.

  3. To sort the list in descending order, select the header again.
    The header arrow changes and now points downwards, indicating that the sort is now in descending order.

Sort using table display settings
To sort your address books using the table display settings:

  1. Go to Contacts > All contacts.
  2. Select DISPLAY to open the table display settings.

  3. Expand the Sort by drop-down menu and choose the way you want to sort the address books table.
    Sorting by Name (asc), for instance, automatically sorts the list in ascending alphabetical order.

  4. Select APPLY.

Sort contacts lists

There are two ways you can sort your contacts lists.

Sort using table header
To sort your contacts lists using the table headers:

  1. Go to Contacts > All contacts and open an address book.
  2. On the contacts list, select a header from the top of the table.
    Sorting by Email, for instance, automatically sorts the by emails in ascending alphabetical order, indicated by the small arrow pointing upwards.

  1. Go to Contacts > All contacts and open an address book.
