1. Permission in writing

The first thing we need from you in order to move a number you are already using to our services is written permission.

This must be a letter, written on company letterhead and signed, that clearly states that you want to move your numbers from your existing provider to Dotdigital. It doesn’t need to be long; we’ve provided a template for you to work from:

I [authorised person name], request to have:

[number(s)]

migrated from [current provider] over to Dotdigital. Please take this document as my permission to migrate the above listed numbers.

Sincerely,

___[signature]*____

[Authorised person name]

[Job title]

*This signature must be an actual handwritten signature. Digital signature is not accepted.

2. Complete the brand and campaign verification form.

Even if your campaign messaging is not changing from your previous provider, you must complete this form. Our form assists you in making sure that your campaigns are compliant with the most up-to-date requirements.

Effect on opted in customers

When you transfer a short code, your customers don't need to be informed of this change and their previous opt-in remains valid.

Migrate your customers from a different code to a Dotdigital short code

If you’re migrating your customers over to Dotdigital, but using a new short code, you must still complete the application form as above.

You also need to review section 3.10.1 on page 14-15 of the CTIA Short Code Monitoring Handbook and follow the steps to opt your customers into receiving messages from the new short code.

If you need help with this, contact your Customer Success representative.
