Cross-account analytics for email

Examine your email marketing data across multiple accounts.

Cross-account analytics is a great way to aggregate all of your email marketing data from multiple accounts into one place.

Cross-account analytics can help you:

  • See how your accounts are performing collectively.

  • Gain insights into individual accounts to see which accounts are performing well and which accounts need more focus.

  • Compare and contrast email campaign performance from multiple accounts.

  • Export all email data into CSV files for further data analytics.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • Cross-account analytics is only available to certain account packages.

  • You must have a parent (top-level) account and at least one child (secondary-level) account to use Cross-account analytics.

  • Users must have permission to access at least two accounts to use Cross-account analytics. Users are only able to view the accounts they have permission to access in Cross-account analytics.

  • Parent accounts can add child accounts to Cross-account analytics. To do this, a parent account must:


Access Cross-account analytics for email

To view email data in Cross-account analytics, go to Analytics > Cross-account analytics and select the Email tab.


Manage reporting data

Your selected display options are linked to your user profile, so the next time you access the page, your preferences are remembered.

To get started, you need to choose which accounts you want to view, and the time period you want to see data from.

Select accounts

Use the account selector to add and remove accounts from your Cross-account analytics view. All of the graphs and tables in Cross-account analytics are then only able to display data from your selected set of accounts.

To choose which accounts to view Cross-account analytics for:

  1. Select the account edit icon in the top right to open the Select accounts side panel.

  2. Select the check boxes of the accounts you want to add to Cross-account analytics. Clear the checkboxes to remove an account from the view. You can use the Search field to search for specific accounts.

  3. Select the Account name checkbox to quickly add or remove all accounts.

  4. Select APPLY.

Filter by account tags

You can also filter your accounts by their account tags.

To filter your accounts by their account tags:

  1. Select the account edit icon in the top right to open the Select accounts side panel.

  2. Remove all accounts from your selection, then select FILTER.

  3. Select SELECT TAGS.

  4. Select the checkboxes for the account tags you want to include, then select APPLY.
    You can use the search field to search for specific account tags.

  5. Select the checkboxes for the accounts you want to view.

  6. Select APPLY.

Filter by account currency

It's possible to view order and revenue data in Cross-account analytics, but only for a single currency at a time.

To filter the view by account currency:

  1. Select the account edit icon in the top right to open the Select accounts side panel.

  2. Remove all accounts from your selection, then select FILTER.

  3. Expand the Currency drop-down menu and select the currency you want to filter by.

  4. Select the checkboxes for the accounts you want to view.

  5. Select APPLY, then APPLY again.

Set date range

Use the date range filter to show account data from a specific period of time.

  1. Select DATE RANGE in the top-right to open the Date options side panel.

  2. Select either:

    • Pre-defined date range

      Expand the date range drop-down menu and select your pre-defined date range.

    • Custom date range
      Use the date picker to choose your Start date and End date.
      You can select a maximum date span of two years.

  3. Select APPLY.

Add campaign tag filter

You can filter the data for email Cross-account analytics by campaign tags. This is useful if you want to only view analytics for a specific set of campaigns.

  1. Select FILTER in the top-right to open the Campaign tag filter side panel.

  2. Select the checkboxes for the campaign tags you want to include. You can use the Search field to locate specific tags.
    Select the Tag name checkbox to quickly include or exclude all campaign tags.

  3. Select APPLY.


Email highlights

The Email highlights tiles display an overview of email metrics combined for all selected accounts.

You can change the metric displayed on individual tiles if you want to. To do this, expand the title drop-down menu for the tile and select a metric.


Account performance

Use the account performance graph to compare up to 6 accounts against a single metric.

To display the account performance graph go to the Account performance section and select ACCOUNTS.

Add accounts to the graph

  1. Select EDIT to the bottom right of the graph to open the Select accounts side panel.

  2. Select the + icon for an empty slot and choose an account to add to the graph.
    Only accounts you have selected to display are available to add to the graph. To remove an account from the graph select the X icon.

  3. Select APPLY.

Choose a metric

  1. Expand the SHOW drop-down menu to the top right of the graph.

  2. Select a metric to display.

Date granularity selector

  1. Expand the date granularity drop-down menu to the top right of the graph.

  2. Choose a new date granularity from the list.


Metric performance

Use the metric performance graph to compare up to 6 metrics from across your accounts.

To display the account performance graph go to the Account performance section and select METRICS.

Add metrics to the graph

  1. Select EDIT to the bottom right of the graph to open the Selected metrics side panel.

  2. Select the + icon for an empty slot and choose a metric to add to the graph.
    To remove a metric from the graph select the X icon.

  3. Select APPLY.

Choose an account

  1. Select the account edit icon to the top right of the graph.

  2. Select the check boxes of the accounts you want to add to the graph. Clear a checkbox to remove an account. You can use the Search field to locate specific accounts.
    Select the Account name check box at the top to quickly add or remove all accounts.

  3. Select APPLY.

Date granularity selector

  1. Expand the date granularity drop-down menu to the top right of the graph.

  2. Choose a new date granularity from the list.


Account comparison

Use the account comparison table to view a comparison of the metrics for your selected accounts.

Add accounts to the table

  1. Select ADD / REMOVE ACCOUNT to the top right of the table, and then SELECT ACCOUNTS.

  2. Select the checkbox for the accounts you want to add.
    A maximum of 20 accounts can be selected. To remove an account from the table select the X icon.

  3. Select APPLY.

Display metrics

  1. Select DISPLAY to the top right of the table.

  2. Select the checkboxes next to the metrics you want to show.

  3. Select APPLY.

To order the table’s data, expand the Sort by dropdown menu and choose a sort order.

You can also select any of the table’s column headers to sort the table data by the selected metric. Select the header again to switch between ascending or descending order.


Campaign performance for single campaign

Use the single campaign performance graph to compare multiple metrics from a single campaign.

To show the graph, in the Campaign performance section, select SINGLE CAMPAIGN.

Choose a campaign

  1. Select the account edit icon to the top right of the graph.

  2. Choose an account from the list and select SELECT.

  3. Select a campaign from the list. You can choose between a list of standard or triggered campaigns from the top.

Add metrics to the graph

  1. Select EDIT to the bottom right of the graph to open the Selected metrics side panel.

  2. Select the + icon for an empty slot and choose a metric to add to the graph.

  3. To remove a metric from the graph select the X icon.

  4. Select APPLY.


Campaign performance for multiple campaigns

Use the multiple campaigns performance graph to compare multiple campaigns against a single metric.

Choose the graph’s metric

  1. Expand the SHOW drop-down menu to the top right of the graph.

  2. Choose a metric from the menu.

Add campaigns to the graph

  1. Select EDIT to the bottom right of the graph to open the Campaign selection side panel.

  2. Select the + icon for an empty slot and choose an account, then select a campaign to add to the graph.
    To remove a campaign from the graph select the X icon.

Date granularity selector

  1. Expand the date granularity drop-down menu to the top right of the graph.

  2. Choose a new date granularity from the list.


Campaign comparison

Use the campaign comparison table to view all selected campaigns’ metrics.

Add campaigns to the table

  1. Select ADD / REMOVE CAMPAIGN to the top right of the table.

  2. Select ADD, then select an account from the list.

  3. Select SELECT.

  4. Select the checkbox next to the campaigns you want to add.

    You can choose between a list of standard or triggered campaigns from the top. A maximum of 20 campaigns can be selected. To remove a campaign from the table select the X button next to the campaign.

  5. Select APPLY.

Display metrics

  1. Select DISPLAY to the top right of the table.

  2. Select the checkboxes for the metrics you want to add.

  3. Select APPLY.

To order the table’s data, expand the Sort by dropdown menu and choose a sort order.

You can also select any of the table’s column headers to sort the table data by the selected metric. Select the header again to switch between ascending or descending order.


Export Cross-account analytics email data

You can export data as a CSV file from the following areas of Cross-account analytics:

  • Email highlights - Select EXPORT CSV

  • Account comparison - Select EXPORT and choose either:

    • Export table
      Exports the table exactly as displayed.

    • Export all accounts
      Exports all accounts you have access to from the account selector and all metrics regardless of which columns you’ve selected on the page.

  • Campaign comparison - Select EXPORT and choose Export table or Export all campaigns.

    • Export table

      Exports the table exactly as displayed.

    • Export all campaigns
      Exports all campaigns from the accounts chosen with the account selector and all metrics, regardless of which columns you’ve selected on the page.
