Two-way sync allows your customer data to sync back to Shopify after making changes in Dotdigital.
If you turn two-way sync on, any changes in Dotdigital to a contact's mapped data fields, subscription status, and date are synchronised back to Shopify.
Before you start
Things you need to know:
Two-way sync won’t create new customers in Shopify.

Some information in this video has changed. We are working on updating the video, but in the meantime, use the article for accurate navigation details.
Turn on two-way sync
In Dotdigital, go to Connect.
Under Installed integrations and extensions select the Shopify tile.
Under the heading Contacts, for Enable two-way sync, select YES.
Select SAVE.
Dotdigital updates these contact data fields:
First name
Last name
Phone number
Note
Tags
Shipping address (default address)
Subscriber Status (accepts_marketing)
When a customer unsubscribes through Dotdigital, accept_marketing changes to false and accepts_marketing_updated_at changes to the current date.
Updates to these customer fields in Shopify happen during the next scheduled sync. Dotdigital syncs incremental updates; historical data isn’t synchronised. If a customer doesn't exist in Shopify, Dotdigital doesn’t create the customer during the synchronisation.
Automatic catalog sync
Once the connection is set up, there are no options to turn order and catalog synchronisation off or on – this is done automatically.
