Cross-account analytics for SMS

Learn how to use Cross-account analytics to examine your SMS marketing data across multiple accounts.

Overview

Cross-account analytics is a great way to aggregate all of your SMS marketing data from multiple accounts into one place. Cross-account analytics can help you:

  • See how your accounts are performing collectively.
  • Gain insights into individual accounts, to see which accounts are performing well and which accounts need more focus.
  • Compare and contrast SMS performance from multiple accounts.
  • Export all SMS data into .CSV files for further data analytics.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • Users are able to see the accounts they log in to plus any other accounts they have permission to view in Cross-account analytics.
  • Parent accounts can grant child accounts access to Cross-account analytics. To do this, a parent account must:
    • Set the user’s permission to use access Cross-account analytics to Yes.
    • Grant the user permission to access other accounts.

  • Users must have permission to view at least two accounts to use Cross-account analytics.
  • Cross-account analytics is only available to Amplify and Ultimate customers.

Access Cross-account analytics for SMS

To access Cross-account analytics, go to Analytics and select the SMS tab.

Manage reporting data

To get started with Cross-account analytics, you need to choose which accounts you want to view, and the time period you want to see data from.

Select accounts
Use the account selector to add and remove accounts from your Cross-account analytics. Use this selector to narrow your analysis down to the chosen accounts. This means all analytics tools will only be able to select accounts from this pool of accounts.

  1. Select the account edit button in the top right to open the Accounts side panelmceclip2.png
  2. Select the check boxes of the accounts you want to add or remove from Cross-account analytics.

    • Select the Account check box at the top to quickly add or remove all accounts.
    • You can use the search bar at the top to search for specific accounts.
  3. Select APPLY.
    The number of accounts you have selected is displayed in the top right.

Filter by tags

You can also filter your accounts by their account tags.

  1. Select the Account checkbox at the top to remove all accounts from your selection.
  2. Select FILTER to open the Filter menu.

  3. Select the checkboxes for the tags you want to include in your filter.
    You can use search bar at the top to search for specific account tags.
  4. Select APPLY.

Set date range
Use the date range filter to show account data from a specific period of time.

  1. Select DATE RANGE in the top-right to open the Date options side panel.

  2. Choose either Pre-defined date range or Custom date range if you want to choose specific dates.
    1. For the Pre-defined date range, expand the date range drop-down menu and select your pre-defined date range.
    2. For Custom date range, use the date picker to choose your Start date and End date.
      You can select a maximum date span of 2 years.
  3. Select APPLY.

SMS highlights

Use the SMS highlights tiles to see overall metrics from all selected accounts.

To change the metric displayed on individual tiles, select the title for the tile and choose a metric from the drop-down menu.

Usage

Use the usage table to compare the amount money each account has spent from the past month.

The usage table is only visible to the top level parent account.

Add accounts to the table
To add an account to the table:

  1. Select ADD / REMOVE ACCOUNT to open the accounts side panel.

  2. Select SELECT ACCOUNTS.

  3. Select the check-box next to each account you want to add.

    • Select the Account check box at the top to quickly add or remove all accounts.
    • You can use the search bar at the top to search for specific accounts.
  4. Select APPLY.
    To remove an account from the graph select the X button next to the account.

Display metrics
To display metrics on the table:

  1. Select DISPLAY.
  2. Select the check boxes next to the metrics you want to display.

Order table
You can order the table’s data by selecting a metric from the tables top row, or selecting Sort by in the DISPLAY side panel.

Account performance

Use the account performance graph to compare up to 6 accounts against a single metric.

To display the account performance graph go to Account performance and select ACCOUNTS.

To add an account to the graph:

  1. Select Edit to open the accounts side panel.

  2. Select the + button and choose an account.

  3. Select APPLY.
    To remove an account from the graph select the X button next to the account.

Choose the graph’s metric
To choose the graph’s performance metric:

  1. Select SHOW to open the metrics drop-down menu.
  2. Choose a new metric from the menu.

Date granularity selector

To choose how the graph displays date data:

  1. Select the graph’s current date granularity.
  2. Choose a new date granularity from the list.

Metric performance

Use the metric performance graph to compare up to 6 metrics from across your accounts.
To display the metric performance graph go to Account performance and select METRICS.

  1. Select Edit to open the metrics side panel.

Choose the graph’s accounts
To choose the accounts to display data from:

  1. Select the graph’s account edit button.

  2. Select the check boxes of the accounts you want to add or remove from Cross-account analytics.

    • Select the Account check box at the top to quickly add or remove all accounts.
    • You can use the search bar at the top to search for specific accounts.
  3. Select APPLY.

Date granularity selector
To choose how the graph displays date data:

  1. Select the graph’s current date granularity.
  2. Choose a new date granularity from the list.

Costs

Use the costs table to compare all selected accounts’ cost metrics.

You can export data as a .CSV file from the following areas of Cross-account analytics:

  • SMS highlights
  • Usage
  • Costs
  • Sending and delivery

To export a .CSV file, select EXPORT .CSV.
