Before you start

Things you need to know:

Why get verified

The blue tick offers several benefits:

  • Builds trust
Shows customers your business is verified by WhatsApp, increasing confidence.

  • Enhances credibility
A verified account stands out and makes it easier for customers to recognize your business.

  • Consistency across platforms
Aligns with Meta's verification standards across Facebook and Instagram.

Notability requirements

To qualify for verification, your business must represent a notable, well-known, and often searched brand or entity. Meta assesses notability based on:

  • Substantial presence in online news articles from publications with sizeable audiences.

  • Coverage in reputable news sources (not paid or promotional content).

  • Business or app listings aren't considered for notability review.

If your display name changes after receiving a blue tick, Meta will reassess the new display name for notability and compliance.

For businesses with multiple phone numbers under one WhatsApp Business Account, previous blue tick approvals don't guarantee approval for all numbers.

If you have one main parent brand that meets notability requirements, update child brand display names to: [sub-brand name] by [notable name].

Request verification

  1. Go to WhatsApp Manager > Overview, then select your business phone number.

  2. Enable two-step verification if it isn't already enabled.

  3. Select Submit Request and complete the form.

  4. Add up to 5 supporting links from renowned publications to demonstrate notability.

  5. Complete fields for Country(s) of operation, parent business or brand, and Primary language.

  6. Select Submit.

Meta reviews your request and notifies you of the decision.

For more details about verifying your WhatsApp business account, see Official Business Account section of the WhatsApp documentation.

If your request is denied

If your verification request is denied, it means Meta's team has determined your account isn't eligible at that time. Currently, these decisions can't be appealed.

You can:

  • Continue growing your business presence

  • Wait 30 days before submitting another request

  • Update your business profile details (profile picture, email, website, business description) at any time

The decision doesn't limit your ability to share business details or operate your WhatsApp account.
