The guidance in this article allows you to replace the Send SMS action nodes with new SMS campaign nodes in active programs.

If you're using the Send SMS action node in any live programs, you must replace these nodes with new SMS campaign actions.

Before you start

You should review the data merging article Scenario 1: SMS and email contacts using broadcast SMS campaigns and SMS in automations.
Your contacts' mobile numbers must be stored in the mobilenumberid field of the new Dotdigital with unified contacts.

Organised SMS reporting
This solution provides a more organised approach to reporting against SMS, streamlining the process and offering better insights.

Go to Automation > Programs, and find any active programs containing a Send SMS node.
Copy the SMS message content from these nodes so you can use it later.
Create corresponding triggered SMS campaigns.
To do this, go to Automation > Triggered SMS, and paste the copied SMS content into the new campaigns, and save them.
Return to Automation > Programs, and temporarily deactivate any programs that contain a Send SMS node.
Replace the Send SMS node with an SMS Campaign node in the deactivated programs.
Select the node, then, in the side panel, select the corresponding SMS campaign.
Select SAVE, and reactivate the program.
