Customise the resubscribe confirmation email

Design a custom resubscribe confirmation email for contacts who have unsubscribed from your email communications.

When an unsubscribed email address is resubscribed, the contact is asked to verify their resubscription through an automated email that contains a verification link for them to click on. Once clicked, their email is address is subscribed once more and added back to your contacts list.

By default, a system-generated resubscribe confirmation email is used for this.

To view the system generated email:

  1. Expand the User menu and go to Settings > Contacts > Subscription settings.

  2. Select PREVIEW.

You can either add your organisation’s logo to the system-generated email, or create a custom resubscribe email using a triggered campaign.


Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • An account can only use one resubscribe confirmation email at a time. All resubscribe confirmation emails sent from the account use either the system-generated email, or a triggered campaign, if selected.


Add a logo to the system-generated email

  1. Expand the User menu and go to Settings > Contacts > Subscription settings.

  2. Select CHOOSE FILE to upload an image file of your logo.
    The logo that you add here is also added to the system-generated double opt-in confirmation email.

  3. Select PREVIEW to see both the resubscribe confirmation email and the verified double opt-in confirmation email.

    Expand the drop-down menu at the top of the window to switch between the two.

  4. Select SAVE.


Create a custom resubscribe confirmation email

1. Create a triggered campaign

  1. Go to Automation > Triggered emails and select ADD NEW.

  2. Choose a template and add your campaign details.

  3. Design your campaign.

  4. In EasyEditor, highlight some text in your campaign then select LINK in the toolbar.

  5. Select Resubscribe.
    You can add a link title or edit the link text if you want to.

  6. Select INSERT.

  7. Select SAVE & CONTINUE.

  8. Select GENERATE PLAIN TEXT VERSION to create the plain text version of your email with the resubscribe link.

  9. Select SAVE & CONTINUE or SAVE again.

2. Set the triggered campaign as the resubscribe confirmation email

  1. Expand the User menu and go to Settings > Contacts > Subscription settings.

  2. Under Resubscribe settings, expand the Resubscribe campaign drop-down menu and select the triggered campaign you want to use.

  3. Expand the Confirmation action drop-down menu and choose between:

    • Show custom message
      You can show contacts a short message such as Thanks for the confirmation. You can set this wording by entering it into the Custom message field.

    • Direct to a URL or page.

      You can enter the URL of a website page in the Enter a URL field, or you can expand the Choose a page drop-down menu to choose a page you've created with our Surveys, pages, and forms tool.

  4. Select SAVE.

Contacts are then sent your customised resubscribe confirmation email instead of the system-generated one. You can change back to the system-generated email, or choose a new triggered email campaign, at any time.
