Our fully customisable Chat widget is the perfect way to communicate with your customers whenever they are browsing your store. Use the Chat widget to offer product support and improve customer satisfaction.
Before you start
Things you need to know:
You must have set up and enabled the Dotdigital Tag for your store.
Learn how in Enable the Dotdigital Tag for Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce.
You need to grant your Dotdigital users permission to access the Chat as agents.
Learn more in the section Enable Chat user permissions.
Enable Chat
Chat for your Magento site is enabled through the Dotdigital Tag.
In Dotdigital, go to Connect > Connect website.
Select the Edit icon for Dotdigital Tag profile for your store.
Under Dotdigital Tag connection settings, select the Enable Chat switch to set the status to Yes.
Select SAVE.
Configure Chat settings
Go to Stores > Configuration > DOTDIGITAL > Chat Settings.
Optionally, expand the Enable Chat profile updates drop-down menu and select Yes.
This setting allows for information from active chats to be sent to Dotdigital once a contact is identified.For Configure Chat, select Configure.
This opens the Chat settings page in your connected Dotdigital account.

Enable Chat team permissions
The users in your Dotdigital account must be granted permission to access Chat as agents, to do this:
In your Dotdigital account, expand the User menu and go to Settings > Users and teams > Users.
Go to Users and teams > Users.
Select the email address of the user you want to edit.
Under Settings, select the Default permissions tab.
For Can use Chat, select Yes.
Select SAVE.
