Our form blocks are great for getting form-based information from your page and form respondents.

You can add a text box for six question types:

  • Text

Use this to ask general questions and gather text-based feedback from your respondents.

  • Contact email

Use this to request and collect a valid email address from your respondent. The email address is then added as a contact to your account.

  • Contact mobile number

Use this to request and collect a valid mobile number from your respondent. The mobile number is then added as a contact to your account.

  • Numerical

Use this to ask numeric questions and gather number-based feedback from your respondents.

  • Other phone number

Use this to request and collect a valid phone number from your respondent. This is stored in your form’s responses, and can be mapped to a data field, but not used for sending SMS to the contact.

Use Contact mobile number to collect a mobile number to use for SMS sending.

  • Other email

Use this to request and collect a valid email address from your respondent. This is stored in your form’s responses, and can be mapped to a data field, but not used for sending email to the contact.

Use Contact email to collect an email address to use for sending.

  4. Expand the Question type drop-down menu, and choose the question type you want to ask.

Options: Text, Contact email, Contact mobile number, Numerical, Other phone number, and Other email.

  5. If an answer is required, select the Required answer check box.

  6. If you want to add a default answer, in the Default value box, enter your default answer.

  7. If you want to add a watermark to the text box, in the Watermark box, enter the text you want to use.

Add respondents as contacts

If you want your form’s respondents to convert into contacts you must add a Contact email or Contact mobile number type question to the form. All respondents that answer the form are then stored in your account as a contact in the master Contacts list under Audience > Contacts.

Contacts can be sorted into lists by:

  • Using the Add respondents option in the form’s Submit actions.

  • Selecting Add to address book from the form’s report.

  • Creating a program to automatically sort them based on their answers.

Enable autocomplete

Autocomplete provides automated assistance to contacts entering form field values.

To edit your form block's autocomplete settings:

  1. Select the form block.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Expand the Autocomplete drop-down menu and choose one of the following options:

    1. On
By default, autocomplete is set to On. This means the browser makes an educated guess and autocompletes the field based on the information it has when a contact enters their answer.

    2. Off
This prevents the browser from autocompleting the form field.

    3. Other options
You can also change the autocomplete to one of the other options, such as name or country. This provides guidance for the browser on how to autocomplete that form field. This option is only available for Text box form blocks.
