You can enrol Contacts and Leads into automation programs in your Dotdigital account directly from Microsoft Dynamics.

Before you start

Things you need to know:

  • You must create, build and activate your programs in Dotdigital.

    Learn how in Program builder.

  • Contacts and Leads can only be enrolled into programs that are in an active state. If the program is not active no enrolment will occur.

Program visibility

Once your program is created and activated, it needs to be marked as visible within Microsoft Dynamics. To do this:

  1. In the left-hand menu, go to Settings, then select Email Accounts.

  2. Select a Dotdigital account.

  3. Select Programs.
The column on the left displays all available programs, and the column on the right shows the programs currently set to be visible in Microsoft Dynamics.

  4. To make a program visible select the checkbox next to the program name, and then select Save.

This adds the program to the Selected Programs area. Once added, the program becomes available for enrolling contacts. You can’t use programs that appear greyed out because they’re inactive.

Contact and Lead enrolment

  1. In the left-hand menu, go to Marketing, then select Contacts or Leads.

  2. Select the name of the Lead or Contact record.

  3. Select Automation Programs.
A list of visible programs is displayed.

  4. Select the checkbox next to the program you want to enrol the contact into, and then select Add.
A confirmation message is displayed and the contact or lead will be automatically enrolled into the program.

Automate enrolment with Power Automate

If you want to automate enrolment into programs, instead of doing it manually, you can use Microsoft Power Automate or Dynamics workflows.

Dotdigital does not provide support for building or troubleshooting workflows.
