Learn how to turn data sync on and off and run a manual sync for your BigCommerce to Dotdigital app.
Overview
You can review your store connection details turn synchronisation on or off, or run a manual sync.
Turn on data sync
To turn data sync on between BigCommerce and Dotdigital:
- Go to Integration hub.
- Under the Active tab, select BigCommerce.
- Under Connected store, for Data sync, select ON.
- Select SAVE.
Turn off data sync
To turn data sync off between BigCommerce and Dotdigital:
- Go to Integration hub.
- Under the Active tab, select BigCommerce.
- Under Connected store, for Data sync, select OFF.
- Select SAVE.
Run a manual data sync
To run a manual data sync for Dotdigital to BigCommerce:
- Go to Integration hub.
- Under the Active tab, select BigCommerce.
- Under Connected store, for Data sync, select SYNC NOW.
Data sync
When data sync is turned on, the connector syncs your contacts, orders, and catalogue information between BigCommerce and Dotdigital every five minutes after the last sync has finished, however, this is dependant on how much data you have to synchronise. For example, first time syncs with a lot of data could take several hours to complete.
How synchronisation works
Automatic synchronisation of your BigCommerce customers' order histories and of your BigCommerce product catalogue requires Insight data and AccountInsight to be enabled on your account respectively. Speak to your account manager if you'd like to enable these.
Order synchronisation
Your BigCommerce customers' order histories will automatically synchronise upon installation. This data gets synced to your account's Insight data collections for contacts. You'll then be able to segment based on contact order data and target your customers more effectively.
Product synchronisation
All of your visible products in BigCommerce will also automatically synchronise upon installation. This data gets synced to your AccountInsight 'Catalog_Default' collection. You'll then be able to make use of EasyEditor's product block.
Signup form synchronisation
When a user subscribes to your marketing newsletters using your subscription form in BigCommerce, they are synchronised to your subscriber address book in Dotdigital. Your subscriber's address book can contain subscribed customers, guests, as well as contacts who have subscribed.
