Popovers are a great way to highlight a page or form on your site without embedding it directly into the content. They appear over the webpage, helping you drive engagement, collect data, or promote offers. Learn how to create a popover with a page or form using Dotdigital.

There are two ways to use pages and forms on your site:

Add a popover

Publish a page as a popover

  1. Go to Content > Surveys, pages, and forms, and select the page you want to add as a pop over on your site.

  2. Select PUBLISHED PAGE button, at the top-right of the page.

  3. Under Generate embed or popover code, select GENERATE POP-OVER CODE.

  4. Edit your popover settings:

    • Show after

Time, in seconds, until the popover appears. For instant popover, choose 0 seconds.

    • Stop displaying

Options of when the popover stops displaying to the user.

      • When the form is closed

      • Only when the form is completed

    • Mobile display

Show the popover on mobile devices. We don't recommend you allow this.

    • Dismiss options

Lets the user use the Esc key to close the popover.

    • Dialog width

Allows you to edit the width of the popover container.

  5. The popover code automatically updates when configuring these options.

  6. After editing the settings, copy the generated code and paste it just before the closing HTML </body> tag of your site.

Notes

  • If the page is completed, the popover won't display again for 365 days.

  • The popover uses cookies in order to work; if a visitor's browser or browser extension is set up to block cookies then none of your configurations apply and the popover always displays.
